In 1964, founder Martin Cohen set out to build his first set of wood bongos, based on the desired specifications of the local musicians. This was the very first instrument ever to be re-introduced by LP. Produced by Martin Cohen, the bongos feature mahogany wood shells with a beautiful satin finish, measuring 6-3/4" and 8-1/4" in diameter, and natural rawhide heads.

The bongos boast traditional, chrome-plated rims and hardware, as well as the original 1964 printed head graphics. Additionally, they come with an original, retro-fashioned signature badge. This classic design and construction harken back to the instrument's roots, providing a truly authentic playing experience.

LP's dedication to preserving the heritage and craftsmanship of this iconic percussion instrument is evident in the meticulous attention to detail. The mahogany shells not only offer a warm, resonant tone but also a visually striking appearance, with the satin finish adding a touch of elegance.

The natural rawhide heads further contribute to the bongos' traditional aesthetic, while the chrome-plated hardware provides a durable and eye-catching contrast. The original 1964 graphics on the heads serve as a testament to the instrument's rich history, connecting modern players to the instrument's roots.

The retro-fashioned signature badge adds a touch of vintage charm, adding to the overall nostalgic appeal of these bongos. This seamless blend of history and modern craftsmanship makes the LP bongos a must-have for percussionists who appreciate the timeless quality of a true classic.

Whether you're a seasoned performer or a passionate collector, the LP bongos offer a unique opportunity to experience the very first instrument ever re-introduced by the brand. With its exceptional build quality, authentic design, and unparalleled playability, this set of bongos is sure to inspire and captivate musicians of all skill levels.
